April 8, 2019 Victor Dmitrievich Blagov passed away.He devoted his whole life to astronautics. The stages of his life are the stages of development of the space industry.
Viktor Dmitrievich came to Energia in 1959 after graduating from MAI. He worked his way from an engineer to a deputy head of a department - the head of a department. He participated in the design of transport manned spacecraft "Vostok," "Voskhod," in the preparation and conduct of the first joint international flight of the spacecraft "Soyuz-19" and "Apollo."
V.D. Blagov was one of the flight managers of the Salyut orbital space stations and the Mir orbital complex, and was actively involved in collaborating with the US space agency NASA on the Mir-Shuttle and World-NASA programs.
Viktor Dmitrievich is one of the founders of the scientific school "Planning and Operational Management of Manned Space Flights." He educated several generations of high-class specialists who provide flight control for modern spacecraft and the International Space Station.
In recent years, V.D. Blagov carried out scientific and technical coordination and support of work on the International Space Station program, prepared proposals for improving the methods and technologies for flight control of products developed at the enterprise.
For the fruitful work and high professionalism of V.D. Blagov was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, awarded the State Prize and the honorary title Honored Machine Builder of the Russian Federation, and received numerous awards from Roskosmos and RSC Energia.
